Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Metros (7-1) in San Francisco on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Indios (7-1) 77-76. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Kittitian forward Kingsley Fitzgerald (188-1986) chipped in 20 points. Indios' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Troy Cracknell (193-1999, college: Augusta) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds. Indios have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with defeated Metros. Indios is again looking forward to face league's second-placed Metros in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Metros will have a break next round.
Ninth-ranked Soles (1-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked Metros (7-1) in Santo Domingo. The visitors from Santiago managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for American forward Anthony Fairley (205-1999, college: Miles, agency: BIG) who saved his team from a defeat with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Jordan Hall contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Jonathan Bello (195-2001) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Soles. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Metros used an opportunity after Indios lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Soles lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Metros will play against league's leader Indios in San Francisco in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Soles' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santo Domingo Leones.
A very close game took place in San Cristobal between Titanes and Marineros. Sixth ranked Titanes (3-4) got a very close home victory over one of their biggest challengers Marineros (3-4). Titanes managed to escape with a 2-point win 96-94 in the game for the fifth place. Romeao Ferguson scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Andersson Mejia with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Marineros and Heroes. Titanes will meet at home higher ranked Reales (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Marineros will play against Leones and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 6 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Heroes were defeated by Reales in La Vega 110-96. Leones were smashed by Caneros at home 69-92. Indios lost to Heroes on the opponent's court 75-80.



Reales - Heroes 110-96

Everything could happen in La Vega at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Reales and 7th ranked Heroes had identical 3-3 record. This time Reales used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Moca 110-96 on Friday night. Guinean-American forward Sekou Sylla (195-2000, college: Towson) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Malachi Richardson (197-1996, college: Syracuse) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Kevin Obanor (203-1999, college: Texas Tech) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jack Clark (208-2000, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reales (4-3) moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Heroes dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Marineros and Titanes. Reales will meet Titanes (#5) in the next round. Heroes will play against Caneros in La Romana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Leones - Caneros 69-92

No shocking result in a game in Santo Domingo where fifth ranked Caneros (4-5) smashed 8th ranked Leones (2-6) 92-69 on Saturday. Caneros dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 28. Caneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Marvin Smith (198-1995, college: UNCG) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Corey Boyd (206-1998) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Boyd is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Caneros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American Angel Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American-Jamaican forward Romaine Thomas (206-1993, college: Clark Atlanta) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caneros moved-up to fourth place. Leones at the other side keep the eighth position with six games lost. Caneros will meet at home Heroes (#7) in the next round. A very close game took place in San Cristobal between Titanes and Marineros. Sixth ranked Titanes (3-4) got a very close home victory over one of their biggest challengers Marineros (3-4). Titanes managed to escape with a 2-point win 96-94 in the game for the fifth place. Titanes shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Xavier Reyes (192-2002) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest.
